Be inspired by the layout of a driveway in a house located in the French Alps. The materials used are Oriental sandstone cobblestones, oak beams and river cobbles for a perfect harmony.
Which cobblestone to choose for a driveway ?
Our customers visited our landscaped garden to choose and validate the type, size and colours of their cobblestones. Their choice was multicoloured oriental sandstone cobblestones with grey, ochre and beige. The chosen format is 14×14 cm with a thickness of 6/8 cm allowing the passage of a light vehicle. The landscape gardener has combined our cobblestones with retaining walls made of oak beams which serve as planters and river cobbles to decorate the flower beds.
An example of laying sandstone cobblestones
First a concrete slab was poured and then the cobblestones were laid. They were laid on a cross-jointed mortar with a format of 14×14. The joints were also grouted with fine sand with a grain size of 0/2 . Note the laying of a line edge paving stone to delimit the contours.
How to care sandstone cobbles ?
Our Oriental sandstone stone is a very hard and frost-resistant sedimentary rock. After a good cleaning, we advise to protect the paving against stains with a special product for building site purposes.
