To embellish the exterior of their 1960s home, our customers came to visit our landscaped garden and chose grey sandstones tiles.
Our Oriental sandstone or “Grès d’Orient” sandstone
We consider oriental sandstone to be a noble material par excellence! It is a surface structured stone with relief because the top is naturally flat. The edges are aged by being hammered by a stonemason. The stone is calibrated to a thickness of 3 cm, which makes it easier to lay and reduces the consumption of glue or mortar.
Declination of the uses of oriental sandstone
The grey oriental sandstone was chosen to fit out 3 spaces :
The terrace: we supplied slabs in 40x60x3 cm. These tiles were laid on a concrete slab, after removing the old tiles. It should be noted that the tiles were laid with a cross joint on half of the slab. The good flatness of the slabs makes it possible to install a table and chairs for lunch.
The wall: to protect the plaster on the top of the wall, we supplied a 40x60x3 cm tile and stoneware cover identical to the paving. The landscaper cut the tiles to have the right width so as not to overhang the wall too much, a width of 30 cm is very good for a 20 cm wall.
The path leading to the pool: to make it lighter, the best solution is to lay Japanese steps on the lawn. Large 60×80 cm tiles are used for good walking comfort. A bed of mortar has been laid under these tiles to improve stability and drainage.
Our customers are very satisfied with the beautiful service provided by the landscaper.
